Abstract

The University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute has several email-based brokering projects for the procurement of standard and custom parts. MOSIS, begun in 1980, builds custom VLSI for the ARPA research community and others. FAST, begun in 1986, buys "standard" (catalog) parts. Other online services at ISI address the fabrication and assembly of printed circuit boards and multichip modules. We have built World Wide Web interfaces to these systems.
