ViolaWWW was first released in 1992-04 as a world wide web hypermedia toolkit and was the first browser with inline graphics, scripting, tables and style sheets.
ViolaWWW was the first popular web browser, released in the early 1990s. ViolaWWW was developed for Unix and the X Windowing System. ViolaWWW's dominant market share was lost with the release of Mosaic.
