WorldWideWeb (Nexus) | Browsers
Standards Based Development
WorldWideWeb was the first web browser and editor; at it's conception, WorldWideWeb was the only way to view the web.
WorldWideWeb was renamed Nexus to avoid possible confusion between the browser and the actual www.
WorldWideWeb source code was released into the public domain in 1993.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee created WorldWideWeb on a NeXT computer station in 1990 while working at cern. WorldWideWeb's first successful build was completed on 1990-12-25.
